Gettin My Dizzy On!

I woke up on Wednesday unable to get out of bed. I tried. But then a rush of dizziness would over power me and I'd literally fall back down onto the bed. Not fun. So my over worried fiance was all, omgomgomgomgomg, and called Telehealth. Now I've called these people before. They're really helpful nurses who let you know what your next steps should be when you're sick or injured. The last time I called them they told me to go to the ER. I think I had hives or something...in one area of my body. So I kinda knew that they'd totally tell me to go to the ER...because they want to make sure all of the bases are covered and that you don't end up dead. Which is nice...but have they been in an ER recently?? It's crowded with sick/bleeding/vomiting people. Um, ew. So when my fiancee handed me the phone I knew what this nurse was going to tell me. She totally thought I might be having a stroke and told me to go to the ER. And then made me promise her I would. I told her that I'd had these symptoms before. That my mom has had these symptoms before. I knew was it was, and that it would go away. Could I go to a walk-in clinic instead? No. She made me promise I'd go right to the ER and to call an ambulance if I couldn't walk to the car (and the cheapy inside me yelled, helllllllllz no. It's $50 for an ambulance ride! You don't get in one of those unless you're dying!!!).

So my mom has had vertigo for some time now. I've watched her not be able to drive for 3 whole months and have to get rides to work from her super nice co-workers. It comes and goes. I've had these same symptoms of the room spinning and spinning and not being able to get up in the past. Thankfully, it's never lasted 3 months, but for a few short days. So after a long wait sitting in between two curtains and some lady with migraine headaches and another lady who kept saying "Excuse me"; the resident doctor finally came and told me very slowly that I had benign (what?)....paroxysmal (huh??)......positional (well I know that's something to do with positions...but come again?).....vertigo (ohhhh. I have vertigo! Ahahaha. Yeah. I know).  I was a tad relieved. And at that point they had just given me a shot of gravol so I was feeling better already.

After I get home and sleep the gravol off and start kinda feeling better (I still can't tilt my head back at all...ugh) I call my parents. My dad was all, oh no, you have what your mother has. My mom was all, "So Nikkeh, yu still gonna dye my hair this weekend?" Oh the love. ;)

Oh and it's my birthday this Monday! Yay!
